Iodio restaurant in Kolonaki, Athens
The lighting concept for Iodio restaurant, inspired by Louise Dahl-Wolfe for Vogue, 1963, "Red Parasol" picture, embraces a harmonious blend of vintage charm and coastal elegance.
The lighting design moodboard scene ,is rich in natural materials, red hues and iconic handcrafted fixtures of enduring beauty, that makes the restaurant stand out both day and night.
Elements in shiny or red patinated brass, bamboo, fabrics, and mouth-blown glass, combined with a delicate balance of accent and diffused light, create a chic yet casual ambiance that is both refined and inviting.
Within the restaurant, iconic airy shades and brass shells, evoking the spirit of the 1930s and 1970s, create a captivating visual narrative. Playful bubbles ascend above the bar, while red patinated sconces, reminiscent of coral formations, and opaline fixtures, like shimmering pearls, infuse the space with an underwater allure.
The outdoor setting evokes the feeling of a coastal lighthouse, with the red sconce casting a dramatic glow on Iodio's sign and the 1960s Fresnel lights adding a touch of timeless character.
Silver table lamps and subtle accents of shine throughout the plantation recall the sparkling beauty of the sea.
